NFL Odds at BetMGM
From the offseason through the postseason, the BetMGM online sportsbook has updated NFL odds throughout the year. Whether you love betting on spreads, building parlays, or checking out live betting during games, there’s something for everyone.
Here are the most common odds at BetMGM:
NFL Spreads
When betting on a spread, you’re betting on the final scoring margin of a game.
Here’s a spread example for a game between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets:
- Bills: 2.5 (-110)
- Jets: +2.5 (-110)
The Bills must win the game by at least three points to cover the spread, while the Jets must lose by two or fewer points (or win the game) to cover.
Each spread comes with odds. In this case, both teams are -110. You may also see spreads with odds of +100, -105, -115, or another value. The odds determine the potential payout.
If you place a $25 bet on the Bills, the potential payout is $47.73 (including stake). To see the payout, add a bet to your Bet Slip and insert a stake.
If the final scoring margin is identical to the spread (e.g., 3 or 5), the bet is a push and all stakes are refunded.
NFL Moneylines
When betting on a moneyline, you’re betting on the winner of a game.
Here’s a moneyline example for a game between the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs:
- Seahawks: +220
- Chiefs: -275
If the Seahawks win the game, their moneyline bet wins. If the Chiefs win the game, their moneyline bet wins.
The odds determine the payout. If you place a $25 bet on the Seahawks, the potential payout is $220 (including stake). If you place a $25 bet on the Chiefs, the potential payout is $73.33 (including stake).
If the game ends in a tie after overtime, the bet is a push and all stakes are refunded.
NFL Totals
When betting on an over/under total, you’re betting on the total points scored in the game.
Here’s a totals example for a game between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings:
- Over: 44.5 (-115)
- Under: 44.5 (-105)
If you bet the over, the two teams must combine for at least 45 points. If you bet the under, both teams must combine for 44 or fewer points.
Like spread betting, totals are accompanied by odds. In this example, a $25 bet on the over’s odds of -115 has a potential payout of $46.64 (including stake). And a $25 bet on the under’s odds of -105 has a potential payout of $48.81 (including stake).
If the final point total is identical to the total (e.g., 44 or 46), the bet is a push and all stakes are refunded.
NFL Prop Bets
A prop bet is a wager on potential team or player outcomes within the game.
Here’s a prop bet example for a game between the Los Angeles Rams and Denver Broncos:
- Player A: Anytime TD (+200)
- Player B: Anytime TD (+600)
If you bet on Player A to score an Anytime TD, they must score a touchdown at any point in the game. If they score a touchdown, the potential payout with a stake of $25 on +200 odds is $75 (including stake).
The same goes for Player B. If they score a touchdown, the potential payout with a stake of $25 on +600 odds is $175 (including stake).
Other prop bets may include a player’s over/under passing yardage total, player to score the game’s first touchdown, or total touchdowns scored by both teams in the game.
NFL Parlays
Parlays combine multiple wagers into one bet.
Here’s a parlay example with three different NFL games:
- Chiefs moneyline: -275
- Jets spread: +2.5 (-110)
- Giants/Vikings over: 44.5 (-115)
All three wagers (aka legs) must hit for the parlay to win. To determine potential payout, add multiple eligible wagers to your Bet Slip and insert a stake. For this parlay, the potential payout with a $25 stake is $96.67 (including stake).
If one leg pushes, it’s removed from the parlay. The payout is recalculated without that leg.
You can build parlays from different games, sports, leagues, and types of bets. Instead of a three-leg NFL parlay like above, it could be a four-leg parlay with odds from the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB.
NFL Futures Odds
When placing a futures bet, you’re betting on an outcome in the future.
Here are examples of futures odds that might be available throughout the year at BetMGM:
- Super Bowl Winner Odds
- Team Win Totals
- Division Winner Odds
- NFL MVP Odds
If, for example, you bet on the Bills’ Super Bowl odds, they must win the Super Bowl for the bet to cash.
