You can check out the latest baseball odds for the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, and the other 28 MLB teams at the BetMGM online sportsbook.
MLB Spreads
Also known as the run line, MLB spreads convey which team is favoured in a game.
The favoured team will usually be -1.5 on the run line. The underdogs will be +1.5, which means they are effectively “given” 1.5 runs before the game starts.
For example, if you back the Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 against the New York Yankees, the Dodgers need to win by two runs or more for your bet to win.
A wager on the Yankees +1.5 would win if the Yankees lost by a single run or won the game.
MLB Moneylines
A moneyline bet is a wager on which team will win a game. This is the simplest option when it comes to MLB betting.
All this bet is focused on is which team wins the game, including extra innings. Backing a team on the moneyline means picking them to win the game.
The favourite will have shorter odds than the underdog on the moneyline.
If the Detroit Tigers are favoured over the Boston Red Sox, the Tigers might be priced at -135 on the moneyline.
A $10 wager on Detroit would have a potential return of $17.41.
As underdogs, the Red Sox could be priced around +115. A moneyline $10 bet on the Red Sox at +115 would carry a potential payout of $21.50, including the initial stake.
Moneyline spring training odds, regular season odds, and World Series odds are available in-season.
MLB Totals
MLB totals are a wager on the number of runs in a game. The sportsbook sets a “line” and bettors wager on whether there will be over or under that number of runs.
A bet on the total is focused entirely on the number of runs scored.
If a total is set at 8.5, a bet on the under would win if there are eight or fewer total runs.
An over bet wins if nine or more runs are scored.
Major League Baseball Prop Bets
Major League Baseball prop bets cover game, team, and player props.
Wagers on whether there will be a run in the first inning are a popular form of MLB game props. These are found under NRFI (no runs first inning) odds and YRFI (yes runs first inning) odds.
MLB team props include bets on how many hits a team will have, whether they will score more than five runs, and dozens more.
Player prop bets are usually focused on a statistical category, like the number of earned runs allowed by a pitcher or the number of hits recorded by a hitter.
Baseball Parlays
Baseball parlays are when a bettor combines multiple selections into a single bet. All of the picks need to land for a parlay to pay out.
Long odds are available when parlays are constructed. The more legs added, the higher the odds will go.
An MLB parlay enables a bettor to construct a bet with selections across different games. This could mean backing teams on the moneyline or mixing it up with game props, player props, and totals.
MLB Live Betting
MLB lends itself to live sports betting with the breaks in play and the structured nature of the sport. Live betting on MLB includes moneylines, totals, and player props.
BetMGM’s live MLB markets update consistently throughout each game.
